Welcome to EPA’s 16th and 17th Annual National Student Design (Virtual) Expo – People, Prosperity and the Planet (P3)

Welcome to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) P3 Program - People, Prosperity and the Planet – Virtual Expo! P3 is a unique competition open to teams of college and university students working to design innovative solutions for a sustainable future. P3 offers students hands-on experience that brings their classroom learning to life by addressing real world challenges in environmental protection and public health. This annual, two-phased research grants program, and the teams who are showcasing their projects at the Virtual Expo received Phase I grants from EPA. Phase I serves as a “proof of concept,” where teams are awarded a one-year grant of up to $25,000 to develop their idea. The Phase I teams at this Virtual Expo come from around the country and address a wide range of environmental and public health challenges—from food waste reduction to PFAS removal. Following the Virtual Expo, these Phase I teams are now eligible to compete for Phase II grants of up ot $100,000.
