We have developed new cellulose based ion exchange membranes for water purification. These materials revove several classes of emerging and known contaminants. The materials are synthesized using a green process and they are regeneratable and reusable so that they provide a sustaianable solution to this human health challenge.

Our team is led by a PhD student and a Masters student at UNC Charlotte. The student participants include high school students and undergraduate students.

We have developed new cellulose-based ion exchange membranes for water purification. These materials remove several classes of emerging and known contaminants. The materials are synthesized using a green process and they are regeneratable and reusable so that they provide a sustainable solution to this human health challenge.
